"Unleash the Magic"
Writers of every literary genre know hat words are magic. The writer who can wield a magic want of words can make sense of the present world or create new worlds altogether.
Elementary prompt: "It was magical!"
Examples: Write about an experience that seemed magical for you or for a fictional character like winning a race or receiving an awardd or prize.
Write about a place that seemed magical like a library, a store, or an amusement park.
Write about a special thing that seemed magical to you. |
Secondary prompt: What one word or phrase have you mattered silently, repeatedly to sustain you - keep you from falling apart, calm your nerves, strengthen your faith, give you hope, affirm your being? it could be a grandparent's adage, a club or team motto, a scripture, a song title or lyric.
Through what source-be it a person, situation, conversation or personal thought-did you discover the magic word or phrase that brought you the solace you have needed in life? When and where did it first occur to you? How did it help you? In what other critical situations have you called upon that word or phrase for comfort? Does it still work for you? |
